Who is eligible for Regents Scholarships?
Regents Scholarships are open to Washington state residents (students living in a Washington household paying Washington state taxes) and members of certain participating Native American tribes.
Students must also meet the following eligibility criteria in order to be considered for a Regents Scholarship:
- Complete the WSU admission and scholarship applications (including submitting high school transcript and SAT/ACT test score) by January 31.
- Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and community, civic, and co-curricular involvement.
- Enter the WSU Pullman campus as a freshman in 2010 (i.e., as your first enrollment in college after high school graduation).
To summarize the changes to eligibility requirements, students are now eligible as seniors (rather than as juniors), so that the scholarship becomes part of the standard college application process; there is no longer a prescribed GPA/test score requirement (the emphasis on academic achievement remains, however); and deadlines have changed.
